The science and technology has advanced astonishingly and it is still developing day by day. Similarly medical science has also been developed greatly and it is reaching to the new heights, but it still can’t refute the importance of herbal supplements and herbal remedies. Herbal supplements and herbal products were a source of healing and purification or spiritual significance in ancient civilizations, so are they in today’s world. It is a mis... [read more]

We'll be floating around the floor at IDEA through Saturday p.m.; please stop by and say hello. Thumb through our paperbacks, try them out on our iPad, and take 30% off (and forego shipping fees) while you're here. And tell us what you think of our current titles, as well as what we should consider publishing in the future.

maria: I have been visiting various blogs for my dissertation writing assignment research. I have found your blog to be quite useful. Keep updating your blog with valuable information... Regards

Hi Charlene, I'd love to meet you in person, but I had to be in meeting in NYC and won't be able to attend the IDEA this year. I'm really sad, but I'm sure there will be other opportunities in the near future. Have a great time!

Michael Carvin posted Any first-timers coming?

Hi all! As I was going through the Crowdvine earlier, I saw a lot of names and faces I'm not familiar with. My first conference wasn't so long ago, and I'm thankful to Yoni Knoll, Whitney Hess, Dom LaCava, and a couple of others for sheperding me through what could have been a really awkward time. So, if there's anyone coming who's maybe new to the community or attending their first UX conference, let's pick a place to meet up Friday after 5pm an... [read more]

Keith Instone posted (How Is This All) Going To Work?

Not coming to IDEA this year, will miss seeing colleagues and everything else. One session looks most interesting to me: (How Is This All) Going To Work? I will be watching the Twitter stream at 1:30 on Friday to try to follow along. Love the focus on the educational aspects as a bridge to good practice. One part the seems missing, to me, from the description, is the role of research, and the researcher, in the mix. So for example, "educators" ar... [read more]

David Farkas posted Wednesday night pre conference

I was wondering who might be getting in Wednesday night and would be interested in dinner and/or drinks in the general area of the conference before everything officially kicks off Thursday. Philly locals: don't leave the location decision to just me or it will likely be Triumph. What other thoughts would be good for a pre conf kickoff?

Abby_the_IA: Farkas -- A bunch of us will be forming a dinner/drinks group when the last of the planning crew fly in after 6. We will be in touch for sure.

Michael Carvin posted Sheraton Availability

Hi all, I've been in close contact with our coordinator at the Sheraton as we come up on the conference next week. As of now, they're very close to being sold out on Friday night. Saturday night is also filling fast. The Hyatt Penn's Landing still has rooms, and are worth looking up on your travel site of choice. Email me at michael dot carvin at gmail if you have any questions, and I'll try to reply as quickly as I can. See you next week!

Chris Ratzlaff: The IDEA page for the Sheraton says that the contracted rate is no longer available. Do you happen to know if it's still possible to get that rate?
Michael Carvin: Hi Chris, I will call my contact at the Sheraton Monday 9am when she arrives, but that said, I'm not 100% sure they'll even have a room available. As I mentioned, Friday night was almost sold out a couple of days ago, and Saturday night was filling f... [read more]
Chris Ratzlaff: Thanks, Michael. I have a room booked already at the Sheraton, just not at the earlier reserved rate.

Hi; just wanted you to know that if you're looking for me at IDEA, I'll be the forlorn-looking guy spending much of his time pushing this cart of books around: http://www.rosenfeldmedia.com/announcements/2010/09/a_new_addition_to_the_rosenfel.php Please say hi, buy a book, and give me a pity hug.

Hi everyone. We're still on the lookout for ideas for topic tables and individuals interested in hosting. Hosting is simple. Just present the topic and start the discussion. Nothing to prepare, no materials needed. And if you just have an idea for an interesting topic but aren't interested in hosting, send us those as well. Noreen Whysel posted Available Room at Sheraton

Do you need a hotel room? I just found out I am double booked. The Sheraton is willing to transfer my reservation if I can find someone to take it. I'd rather try to find someone in the IDEA family than dump it back into general reservations. Great opportunity if you haven't booked yet. The Sheraton is otherwise sold out. LKM.

Noreen Whysel: Looks like I have a taker.
Ray DeLaPena: A taker and a thanker. Thanks so much Noreen. See you there. - Ray PS: I.O.U. a drink. :)
